Adventures with Merrill.......Part 2

On Sunday we decide to go to Mesa Verde. We could not believe we pick a place that Merrill had not been to. To the visiting center it is 15 miles back, you would think you could make it there in 15 -20 minutes, NOT!

It took a good half hour or more. Then from the visiting center to the tour we went on it took an other 20 minutes. Merrill chose the Balcony House.

The next couple of picture are looking down into the canyon.

Going part way down into the canyon to see the cliff dwellers ruins.

See how close we are to the wall. On the other side is the canyon a pretty steep drop off. As you can see from the pictures before.

The first of three ladders, but this one is the highest.

Looking down!

The ruins.

The tunnel!

Mark usually had the camera, since he is the only one not afraid of heights. But a one point I thought I should get his picture, too.
See there was a rail fence so I didn't have to worry about falling over the edge. HA! HA!

Another ladder!

But with this one after your done with the ladder then a stone steps that are cut out of rock. It switch back around.

Then the last ladder!

Going back to the main highway.

Our driver!

It was a great weekend. I was glad this was the weekend it worked out for Merrill to have an adventure with us, because back home it was my Dad's 81st birthday and at our church the ladies were having an overnighter at a cabin, so I could have been very homesick but God work that out!

Adventures With Merrill

Merrill, my brother who lives out here, well about 3 hours away, is supporting us by taking us on adventures when he can fit it in. This past weekend was an adventure. He likes going to Durando, Colorado and now we do to.

He came Friday night, so Saturday morning we got up early and headed to Durango. There is a train that goes from Durango to Silverton but we decide to do that the next time.

So we walked the street and visit the little stores until about lunchtime. We then decide to drive to Silverton. What a drive! What screne! We will try to share it with you!
