Christmas in July

Mark and I are spending a couple days with my brother, Merrill. Mark is doing some MDS work for him. Each morning after we all have had our breakfast (some earlier than others), we go for a walk. The first morning we came home with a little puppy, she followed us home.
The next morning while walking, Mark noticed some tree he thought we should dig up and transplant. As it was, we were planning to go to town for a few things and so a spade shovel was added to the list.
This morning as we head out for our walk with shovel in hand, I asked, "What is today date?"  We all started laughing when we realized it was July 25!!!! Ta Da Christmas in July!!!!

Merrill even dressed the part!

Merrill had the song "Feliz Navidad" on his phone, so we even had Christmas music!

You never know what us 3 will come up with, it can also happen when Mary Lee (my sister) is with us, too.

Guest House .........MDS...................MDS

MDS...............MDS:
Make Do Somehow.....................Mark Deitrick at your Service
What do you get when you cross an old Ford tractor(that needs a new battery and has sat, who knows how long), a Kubota tractor, Nissan little truck.

Ta Da!
Can you figure out what Mark is up to!
The house in the back round is the guest house that is getting some major work done. One area is to enlarge the little back porch, bring the corner out to line up with the side of the house and the front of the porch. Mark is trying to dig a hole to set a post, then run the floor joists and tie into the house.
To do this he need the Kubota to hold down the post hole digger!

The Nissan truck to get and keep the Ford tractor running!
The Ford tractor has the post hole digger on it!

He is getting the hole dug!

The master mind behind this set up!
He learned well from our 3 months with MDS!
(Mennonite Disaster Service - the real MDS)

I never know when MDS.................MDS is going to happen!

Guest House........Before

At the Mission there is a house that needs some major work done to it. A couple had lived in it when we first got here. In Minot,ND, the church were we lived for 3 months, had this in a couple of places in the church and other places, I guessed it was their mission statement. " We leave the judge to God." With that said I will not explain why it needs the work, just what needs down.
We took some before pictures.
