Painted Desert

This was beautiful.

Painted Desert Inn

Hopi artist Fred Kabotie painted the murals at the inn.

Sorry, Merrill I don't think they are serving today!

Back when people took pride in their work.

They was doing tile way back then. The blue is a cement-like bench.

You could look through the window. Cute little rooms. I think it would have been fun to stay over night at this inn. No Queen or King size bed, No free wi-fi, No TV let alone HBO or 300 channels, etc.
Back when live was simple!

This was the best part of the 28 mile park road!
Painted Desert and the Painted Desert Inn!

By the way, Happy Birthday, Marco!!!!!!!

Petrified Forest

For me growing up in PA. This sign is wrong, as you look at the pictures, see if you can figure it out!

Which one is Petrified?
And here?

Merrill counting the rings. Do you think that works for Petrified wood?

The Park Road is 28 miles long, with 10 stop along the way. Some have hiking trails and picnic areas. We did not stop at all of them. The next post is of Painted Desert which was one of the stops.

Did you figure out what is wrong with the sign?
 Where is the forest?

for·est

Winslow, AZ

Do you remember the "Eagles" song "Taking It Easy"? Well about 35+ years ago we had a Green Ford T- Tag (It lived up to it's name Fix Or Repair Daily). But the one time Dad took the side off so now we had a flat bed ford and  a song "Taking It Easy", so now I would drive it (when it would run).
Boy, I would turn up the 8-track player and go to town. I never knew there really was a town called Winslow, AZ.
Now in 2012 I finally make it to Winslow, Arizona.
Somethings just take time to come together or find all the pieces.

Wonder if it was every green!

Running a Little Behind

Sorry  this one won't have any pictures!
Mark and I are having some heavy heart with family members back in PA. We are praying for a MIRACLE! Yes we do believe miracles do happen. The Lord led us to a book we have been studying(just Mark and I) When You Need a Miracle...How to Ask God for the Impossible by Linda Evans Shepherd. Please join us praying for a Miracle!

In two week we are flying back to PA. We are not sure what we are to do, what we are to say, so please pray for us. That it would be God's words come out of your months and that His will be done not ours. Please pray that harden hearts be soften. Please pray against the enemy, that stronghold be broken. Thank you for your prayer support!

Please keep praying for protection. We are seeing sn_ _ _s just about every day. Here is how God has been answering your prayers. The other night we were walking. We were about 3/4 done. I look down and saw something I didn't want to see, I jump, scream, hop, ran, and I'm not sure what else. But I knew God was in control because the on;y thing I remember is there was a chipmunk in the rattlesnakes mouth. So I knew he could not hurt me. You never know how God is going to answer your prayers.
