Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone!
This has been a very different Christmas, but what should we expect, we are in a different state, different culture, and just plain differnt.
There was no advent, which I didn't think I would miss, but I did.
No one around us has the Christmas Joy, Christmas Hope, and Christmas Love.
Mark and I did enjoy getting food and wood for Gwen.
(even if we did get into trouble for it)
I'm am glad our Hope, Joy, and Love is in the Lord!
He had our Christmas Eve covered. We are having a white Christmas and Merrill has some friends that invited us over and we had a Christmas Eve service.
It was great!
I'm also happy we are only three and a half hours away from Merrill. We can a least be with family!
Merry Christmas to all of you!
Thank you for your prayers!

Sunrises

I thought it was time to share some more sunrises with you!

It has been rough on the mission for the last couples of months. Just the other week, Mark got into trouble for doing what we know God wanted Mark to do. If you read the post
"What Christmas is about!" that is what he got in trouble for.
Please pray for us.
The sunsets, sunrises, and the Navajo people is what keeps us going. We know these three things are gifts from God!

What Christmas is About

On Wednesday night Mark got a call from his friend Eddie.
Eddie had been trying to get a hold of a lady who had become friends with Rosie through her treatment, and let her know that Rosie had finished the race. What he found out was she also finished the race 2 weeks ago. But her daughter lost her job in Abq. because she missed work, going to the services. She is now living in Gallup in her mother's trailer, but no job yet.
Eddie wanted to know if we could help in any way. He was calling several people to help if they could.
Well, you know Mark! Thursday morning he had no rest until he was out cutting wood. That turn out to be God pushing Mark. We got snow both Friday and Saturday, so there would not have been any wood to take to her. That is how they heat the trailer.

On Friday I had already planned to go into town, but my list grew. We did not know if she had running water or electric. I just ask God to direct me into what to buy. Here is what I heard Him say, dish soap, toilet paper, pinto beans, potatoes, fruit cups, can corn, spam, rice, soup, and somethings I can't remember. The mission had somethings left over from a Christmas project so I got somethings like, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, hairbrush, hair ties, hat, gloves, scarf, fleece blanket, Tea bags, gum, dish towels, wash cloth, and again somethings I can't remember. I just know it was what God wanted her to have.

Eddie knew she had electric so they got milk, eggs and some frozen things.
God knew what He was doing, we were just His hands!

 Eddie in his spiderman hat!
 Eddie, Gwen and her boys!

(No your eyes are OK. Somehow the cameria got switch to a differnt setting called fish-eye effect)

Gwen has spend time in the Pittsburgh area when she was younger. She said if the wood, would have come from PA it would last a lot longer she knows about our oak and hickory firewood.

This was not a easy task to deliver this. The plan was to leave Eddie's around 8:00am. Saturday morning. When we got up it was snowing but no problem we have The Truck! Two and half miles down the road, when Mark went to get on the highway he did a donut(That"s my job). He did make it to Eddie's about another 3 miles. They decide to wait and see what the next couple of hours would bring and try again. Mark came home and plowed out the mission. Around 12:30pm they decide to try again. This was a 2 hour or more trip in good weather. They made it home by 8:00pm that night safe and sound. They only stayed at Gwen house about a half hour. Mark and Eddie made memories and was God's hands (and in His hands, also) and Gwen was blessed!
