Love

This is how we know what love is:  Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.  And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.      1 John 3:16

At the Mission, there is a place where folks from the community can go to get water for a penny per gallon.

Many homes out here do not have electricity, hence no running water.

This is normal for most people living out here.

At the mission, members of the local community can come and do their laundry, using these coin-operated machines.

They can also come to the mission and get free showers.

The mission has a clothing house, were folks can come and get free clothes and other necessities.

When I think of all that the mission does to help the community, I am reminded of the verse from James 2:14-17 -  What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but no deeds?  Can such faith save them?  Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food.  If one of you says to them, "Go in peace; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?  In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

Jesus loves us so much that He died and rose again so that we may become members of God's family.
