Thank you for your prayers.  We did not get lost on our sightseeing adventure. Mark is feeling a little better also.  This morning we went to Hubbell's Trading Post.  When we arrived, we walked around the buildings and sawthe following pictures:

I liked the way these buildings reminded me of the old West.  The muzzle loaders (old guns) caught Mark's eye.  He also enjoyed the hand woven Navajo rugs.

We then traveled about 45 minutes to Canyon de Chelly and took the White House Trail.

It was 2 .5 mile round-trip

Only the beginning

Mark's friend

The signs says ruins with an arrow pointing at Mark!

White House Ruin

It is named for the long wall in the upper dwelling that is covered with white plaster

Built by the ancestral Puebloan people and occupied about 1,000 years ago.

Look up from the bottom!

Going back up! Stopping for a break.

Another break

And another!

It was a lot easier going down!

Let's take a short cut!

Yes, I'm about done in. That brother of mine!

Yes there is light at the end! Almost back to the top!

Some pictures from Sunday!
No! Dad, we didn't go to Salladasburg, PA.

Back home there is a Speedy's along 287. So we thought this was neat.

My brother, Merrill

This is why it is called Window Rock

With Merrill along, you get both of us in one picture.

The Navajo marines helped in WWII by using their native language as a military code.
This was the only wartime code never broken by the enemy. A movie called Windtalkers is about the Navajo Code Talkers during WWII, but be forewarned, it is rated R.

Mark liked this.  He said it looks like footsteps.

Thank you Merrill, you are a great brother!

Leaving on a Jet Plane

On Saturday Jamie Lee and Jess took us to BWI for our 4 1/2 hour flight to Albuquerque, New Mexico. My brother, Merrill met us at the airport in Albuquerque to spend a couple of days with him in Arizona.
Our first stop was getting something to eat. We stopped at a place called Rudy's. That was an interesting place. They had bar-b-que pork, chicken, ribs, etc. I had the pulled pork, however, not as good as Smucker's but it was food in our tummies.
We caught up with things from home with Merrill and he shared about thing along the way. We stopped and got groceries. We finally got to his house and sat and talked some more. Mark and I was getting really tired but the sun was still up. When we took the two hours off the time, no wonder we were tired it was already 10:00 PM Pennsylvania time.

Please pray for Mark.  Sometime on Friday, a cold caught up with him! Please pray we don't get lost on Monday, because Merrill is going to work and he is sending us sightseeing.  Pray for our safety as we hike some ancient trails through some canyons.  Please pray for us as Tuesday we head to our new job for Jesus.

We just want to thank our kids for all they have done for us while we were home. Lacey and Digger,  for picking us up at the airport, letting us have time with Rachel, Jessie, and Caleb. Marco and Leah, for letting us stay with them. Jamie Lee and Jess, for taking us to the airport. We could not be doing what we are doing without the help and support of our kids.
We tried to give our children roots, but also gave them wings. Now they are letting us have our wings!
